Pods

I am inspired by historical precedent. These pieces have origins in multiple places.
1) Medieval Waldglass traditions in central Europe. These pieces had expressive and inflated bitwork, called prunts.
2) Ancient Shang Bronze castings with three legs and elaborately decorated with divinatory i-ching; often used in funerary celebrations. This is where the names come from..tripods...PODS.
3)Drawing and Painting of the figure. I have a fancifull interest in the expressiveness of the molten glass. This ability to shape and inflate and manipulate molten goey honey-like paint is what it's all about!

Stiletto Pods
In an effort to simultaneously explore the contrast between sharp and soft, these pods are all about texture. Some areas are shiny untouched glass, other areas are etched and oiled. Ultimately, it's a celebration of opposites and truly a sight to behold and to hold. Click here to explore...
