Franconian Pods

Frankonian Vase, 10'x10'
Inspired by Franconian Beakers of the Black Forest. These inspired bits pulled into talons and arms, and sometimes legs, allow the glass to appear alive. While it's molten and plastic, the glass has it's own move and grove. I like to let these pieces speak about that dance! The original franconian pieces were intended as drinking vessels; I wish these to have been about a broader vocabulary of primordial organisms that sometimes resemble vases, bowls, decanters.
I've been working on these for many years, but i feel that they came to fruition in the Pneuma Show at Louisville Glassworks, Von Fire Gallery in 2008
