GEODESIC JELLYFISH, Art Shanty
Imagine an art show in the middle of a Minnesota Winter on a frozen lake...A Festival where the lake itself is the Gallery for Art Shanties, each is a unique play on the idea of a traditional fishing shanty. Some are Karaoke Clubs (Norae Shanty), some are Radio Stations (KICE), and this particular one is the Geodesic Jellyfish. The structure is a home made, Buckminster fuller 3/5 dodecahedron structure. Inside the protective outer layers, there is a lovely chandelier that doubled as a "fishing" apparatus, hanging down into the ice. This is where the structure of the dome transforms into the body of some predatory arctic jellyfish. I wish i could do stuff like this more often...
